Located between San Diego and Los Angeles, Vista was incorporated in 1963. Vista occupies 18 square miles and only seven miles from the Pacific Ocean. Vista derived its name from the Spanish word for "view;" the city of Vista is situated along Southern California’s rolling foothills which overlooks the Pacific Ocean in San Diego County. Vista offers its residents many family attractions such as the Vista Historical Museum, The Wave Water Park, Antique Gas and Steam Engine Museum and the Moonlight Amphitheatre.
Created in the late 1920’s Vista’s downtown center is one of the highlights of the city which most of the buildings on Main Street were built during the late 1920s to 1940s. Ideal for raisin a family, Vista enjoys a small-town atmosphere but still offers its residents shopping, restaurants, leisure, and cultural activities in a gorgeous environment.
