Between La Jolla and Del Mar, located on the coast of Southern California, Torrey Pines Municipal Golf Course was designed by William Bell, Sr. in 1957. There are not one but two 18 holes of golf, the north course and the south course, at this fabulous golf course. During February the Buick Invitational of California both courses are played by the PGA TOUR professionals, which are featured coverage by USA and CBS television networks. Hole number six at the Torrey Pines Municipal Golf Course is the signature hole of the course.
The views on this course are so beautiful, providing ocean views on both courses. Deep canyons with overgrown vegetation and wildlife are some of the other views that the course displays. The course's name really comes from the "Torrey Pine tree" which both courses have plenty of them. The South course is longer than the North course, and some say that the North course has a better scenic view. Both courses are rather open and difficult with strategically placed bunkers.
